What is there to do at River Rock Recreation Campsite?
Here are some popular ideas:

At The campsite

  • Relax around the campsite in a hammock or your favorite chair.
  • You can bird watch or fish from the river bank.
  • Bring outdoor games like corn hole, ladder ball, horse shoes, bocce, frisbee, card games and many more.
  • Get lost in a good book.
  • Photograph wildlife or natural landscapes and features.
  • Practice meditation, forest bathing or yoga.
  • Tell stories and cook over the campfire.
  • Eyes to the sly! Watch the sun rise and set or star gaze all night.​​

on the river

  • Bring your paddleboats, kayaks, canoes, and SUP’s to explore the Susquehanna River water trail.​
  • Bring your boat. There are 10 boat launches on the Susquehanna River in Lancaster County.​
  • Paddle up the river to Conewago Falls to explore, then float back down river to River Rock Recreation campsite.
  • Explore and Fish the Susquehanna and surrounding waterways.
  • Work towards completing the 444!

  • Explore the ​55th National Heritage Area!
  • The NW Lancaster County River Trail runs parallel to the campsite. You will find historical markers, scenic overlooks, and river access points.
  • Bring your bike to explore local trails.
  • Walk or Hike the trail and even geocache along the way.
  • Explore natural attractions like Falmouth Potholes or the edible forest garden.
  • Discover a number of parks,  nature preserves, picnic areas, and trails nearby.
