If you're still reading this blog, thank you!Well, we certainly didn't expect that. Sorry about the mid-summer hiatus. Camp life kept us busier than we expected! But we wouldn't have had it any other way! Hopefully you guys are still here and ready to adventure forward and onward in our blog! Not only were we busy keeping campers happy, but we spent the summer adventuring too! We love our campsite and we spent a large chunk of our summer enjoying life down by the river, just like our campers. Almost everyday of the summer you would have found one of the River Rock Recreation family out exploring on the water. As much as we love to keep it local, we also get around! The River Rock Recreation family hiked the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee and camped the Rocky Mountains in Colorado this summer! We called it market research, we love what we do! Smokey Mountains, Gatlinburg Tennessee. Rocky Mountains, Kremmling Colorado. Give a Hoot, don't pollute! We want campers to know that being river front is both a blessing and a burden. We have no control over the trash that washes ashore. The river levels are constantly changing, with it comes hoards of trash and litter that wash into the bank. We only have a choice with what happens to it from there. We are constantly and diligently removing trash from both the river and the campsite. We are fighting to take back our waterways from the path of pollution and so should you! Stop banking on someone else to care more than you. We hope that our campers care just as much as we do, we encourage everyone to pick up any trash they see while they are exploring. We fell in love with the Susquehanna River lands as children and we want that to be an opportunity for all of the kids to come. Looking to get away from the crowd? The weekdays are the best days to camp out at River Rock Recreation campsite; "On the weekends everyone comes out to play, but the weekdays are the best days because work keeps all the people at bay." If your aim is to feel secluded, the weekdays are the best days for you. You can't blame the weekend warrior! They work hard all week, counting down the days until they are free to have an adventure. They are too tired after work to utilize their weekday evenings, so they cram as much fun as they can into the weekends. A taste of the wild to keep them going. We have all been there and will probably be there again. However if you can break the chain and get outdoors during the weekdays you would be surprised at how alone you can feel. The landscape transforms to your own private view. The echo of nature's chorus rings out uninterrupted. The Susquehanna River whispers sweet nothings in the wind all day long. The trees' canopy wraps around and hugs you. The stars dance for you in the nights sky. The weekdays are just for you. Campgrounds are not for everyone |

the camp shower
Just because you're camping doesn't mean you can't get clean! Leave the wet wipes in the tent. The camp shower area provides a semi-private area to get cleaned up. It is compatible with just about any store bought shower bag for camping. The solar shower bags are intended to heat up in the sun all day and then will provide warm water.
